Brief Description:  Add 1 Layer of Fiberglass Around All Tips

After sanding the canopy skirts I moved back to the empennage and sanded the fiberglass around the elevator counterweights. I also did some final sanding along the length of the intersection lines, both on the fiberglass and the aluminum sides. Everything was cleaned with Acetone and then I wrapped one layer of fiberglass around each tip joint. When I start working on the vertical stablizer and rudder tips, the only thing I will do differently is not use Flox as a filler beneath the fiberglass. I'll still Flox and pop rivet the tips in place but I won't Flox along the entire joint and try to use this is a filler. It is a pain in the butt to sand and is much heavier than micro. From now on it will be mirco all the way. I guess I got hung up on a note I saw in the Aircraft Spruce catalog that you should never glass over micro. I think that makes sense for structural things and things where the entire base is micro, but for the tips that doesn't make sense! These aren't structural areas, and the mirco under the fiberglass is minimal and is just used to fill in the pop rivet holes and the small gap between the tips and the aluminum.
