Today I worked on the left flap. First I trimmed and notched the top skin to provide the necessary clearance between the flap and the fuselage and step plate. Then I polished the edge with a scotchbrite pad. Rather than iteratively enlarge the hole for the right pushrod, I decided to make a paper template of the finished right hole. I then inverted the template and traced the outline onto the left side of the fuselage. Then I broke out the dremel tool with the sanding disks again and enlarged the hole for the left pushrod. It came out great! And it's perfectly symmetrical with the right hole. And it took far less time than the right side did. Once the hole for the pushrod was done, I installed the left flap once again.
