I was nervous about starting the longerons today. These are very long pieces of angle that I really didn't want to mess up since they would be very expensive to purchase and have shipped. They are also very critical load carrying members that run the length of the fuselage. Really the only thing I did today was a lot of measuring, remeasuring, marking and head-scratching before actually taking the plunge and making the notches in the ends of both longerons. These were actually really easy to make. I started by drilling a #30 hole in the corner and then using a dremel cutoff wheel to make the cuts from the edges to the corner hole. The vixen file cleaned everything up nice, followed by some sanding and polishing with a scotchbrite pad.
