Brief Description:  Fabricate Attach Angle;Drill Access Hole

I spent some time with my trusty hacksaw tonight fabricating the T-405 fuselage attach angle. This one turned out fine after some cutting and sanding on the belt sander. I'm pretty sure it took me 2 attempts to fabricate this for the left tank. The next thing I did tonight was locate the center of the access plate using a tip that my Dad showed me a long time ago. Basically, you draw two secants through the circle that you want to find the center of, one at the top and one at the bottom. Then you take a compass and place the point on each intersection (4 of them) of the secants and the circle and swing an arc above the circle. The two arcs at the top will intersect and the two arcs at the bottom will intersect. When you draw a line through the two intersecting arcs, it will bisect the circle exactly in the middle. If you repeat this process with 2 secants on the right and left sides of the circle rather than the top and bottom sides, the circle will be bisected again. Where the first bisect intersects the second bisect is the exact center of the circle. Very handy. Once I found the center, I used the fly cutter in my drill press to cut the hole for the access plate on the inboard rib.
