Brief Description:  Countersink Z Brackets for Nutplates

Once all of the Z bracket holes were backdrilled using the holes in the spar as a guide, the brackets were removed from the spar. I then used a junk nutplate and bolt as a template for drilling all of the rivet holes for the nutplates. This was done for all of the Z brackets except for the inboard most bracket which has the nutplates installed on the spar rather than on the bracket. Once all of the rivet holes were drilled for the nutplates, I used my 1/8th inch scrap aluminum clecoed to the back of the Z bracket flange as an additional guide for the pilot on the countersink bit. All of the rivet holes for the nutplates were machine countersunk in this manner.
