Brief Description:  Align Trim Tab to Elev, Drill/Rivet Hing

After spending a great deal of time aligning the trailing edge of the trim tab with the trailing edge of the elevator, and after a great deal of creative clamping, I was able drill the trim tab hinge to the rear spar of the elevator. The trailing edges are very well aligned but the outboard edge of the trim tab is too close the inboard edge of the elevator cutout where my new rib is. The rivets on the ends of the trim tab that hold the bent-over tabs together actually rub against the elevator. I am a little discouraged about this. Also, now that the trim tab is in place against the straight end rib that I formed on the elevator, the trim tab bends aren't as straight as I originally thought. I will probably end up cutting the trim tab end tabs off as well and fitting another staight rib in their place to elimnate the rivets that are rubbing and to straighten the trim tab edge. After Oshkosh though! To rivet the hinge to the rear spar of the elevator, I had to use the yoke that has a smooth tip without a hole for a die to reach in the tight area. However, it didn't have enough of a lip to reach over the hinge without crushing it. I had to cut a tiny, 1/8" piect of steel that I just loosely set on the tip of the yoke to reach over the hinge to form the shop head. This worked great!
