The pilot's control stick interfered with the throttle on the panel, even with the throttle pushed all the way in. Not to mention that the grips haven't even been installed yet. I know Van's recommends not cutting the control sticks and that the control forces increase as you cut the sticks but I really had no choice to eliminate the interference. I will be using the Ray Allen G205 grips so I measured everything and decided to trim 3" off of each stick. The grips will add about 1.5" back. I feel like cutting the sticks much shorter since they don't feel natural being so long but I'm sticking with Van's recommendation and keeping them as long as possible without causing interference problems. I used an ordinary pipe cutter to trim these down and then deburred both sticks.
