I originally purchased 3 of the large eyeball fittings to secure the throttle, mixture, and carb heat cables to the firewall but I could only use 2 of them,,,one for the throttle and one for the mixture. I couldn't use the one for the carb heat cable since I pre-drilled the firewall according to the plans way back when I first started working on the fuselage and this hole was too close to the throttle eyeball mount. However, I found another fitting with a much smaller diameter / profile from Aircraft Spruce that will work. Steven helped me tighten this fitting. He held the nut with a wrench on the engine side of the firewall while I crawled under the panel and tightened things up from the cabin side.
We sealed the fitting with black, high-temp RTV. I also installed the stainless steel plug to cap the hole that was needed in the firewall to install the bolt for the nose gear leg. This was also sealed with RTV.
