Brief Description:  Fabricate Bracket for Dynon EDC-D10A - Compass

The things I spend the most time on throughout this project is making decisions,,,like where to mount the Dynon EDC-D10A remote compass and how to mount it. I finally decided to mount it to the top and back of the vertical support channel for the baggage wall. Now,,,how to mount it.

I ended up making a simple T bracket out of a short piece of 1x1.25 angle and an 0.063 plate. I centered the plate on one end of the angle (1" side) and drill five #30 holes. Then I countersunk the plate, deburred everything, cleaned with Acetone, alodined both the angle and plate, and then riveted them together. The plate was then drilled for the EDC-D10A. I probably should have screwed the remote compass to the plate but I didn't have any brass nuts and the last thing you want around this thing is any ferrous material so I just riveted this to the plate. I doubt I'll every have to change this out but if I do I can remove the entire bracket from the vertical support channel since this will be screwed in place rather than riveted.
