Brief Description: Wire Dynon EFIS / EMS Together - DSAB
Today I wired the two Dynon units together. This will allow the EFIS and EMS to swap screens with each other through the Dynon Smart Avionics Bus (DSAB) wires.
I wasn't quite sure how to do this since I have the Approach Systems pre-made harness connected to the EFIS and the SteinAir pre-made harness connected to the EMS. They each had DSAB pigtails that I could have just butt spliced together but I decided against this. I ended up removing the DSAB pins / wires from the EFIS / Approach Systems cable and then crimping female pins onto the the blue and green wires from the EMS / SteinAir harness and plugging these directly into the D-Sub connector for the EFIS. Worked out much better this way with no butt splices involved.
