Brief Description:  18AWG from Volt Reg to Breaker to Master

My wiring task for today was to connect the 18awg wire from the voltage regulator to the 5amp breaker, and then from the breaker to the master switch. This is for the alternator field. An 18awg wire with a 22awg fusible link section is then needed to connect the master to the stud on the main buss (not any of the fuse tabs). The fusible link is appropriate since the 5amp crowbar breaker is remote from the buss and will protect the wires leading to the breaker. The fusible link is just a section of wire that is 4awg smaller than the main wire that is butt spliced together along a protective fiberglass sleeve. If the fusible link blows, the 22awg wire in this case will burn up inside the sleeve without any harm to anything else. I was able to fabricate the fusible link but won't have time to install it until tomorrow.
