Brief Description: Mirco Canopy Corners; Mirco Right Elev Lead
I removed the canopy and layed it upside down on a tarp on the floor. I decided to reinforce those thin fiberglass front corners. The first thing I did was sand all of the primer off the inside flanges of the canopy rails as well as the side skins/fiberglass with 40 grit. I vacuumed everything and cleaned with acetone.Next I mixed up a small batch of micro and used a small popsicle stick to make a nice fillet along the gap between the flange of the canopy rails and the side skins/fiberglass. This will provide a smooth transition for the fiberglass as it bends L-shaped along the rails and skin.I also placed some duct tape on the aft side of the right elevator lead counterweight and then filled the large lightening holes with micro.
