Brief Description: Lighten Right Elevator Lead; Trim Tip
Matt worked on trimming the right fiberglass elevator tip while I struggled with lightening the counterweight lead. This lead is far to heavy for the right elevator and was really designed for the left with the trim tab and servo mounted aft of the balance point. Lead is a pain in the butt to do anything with except perhaps melting it. It took me forever to drill these large holes to remove enough weight where the right elevator is only slightly front-heavy. I hope I left enough to counterbalance the paint that will be sprayed on later.Matt did a nice job trimming the fiberglass tip to fit the right elevator. I get to try my hand on the left one. At least I won't have to drill out any lead on that side!
