Brief Description: Installed Alternator Warning Light and Alternator
I installed Fire Resistant Sheathing on the Red Alternator Enable Field Switch wire and connected this wire to the Load terminal of the 5 Amp Push Button Circuit breaker I installed yesterday. Then I ran a 14-guage wire from the circuit breaker (line side) to the Composite Design LSP1 Breaker Panel Alternator Field Switch Terminal labeling all the wires. I also connected the EA-1050 ALTERNATOR WARNING Light to an inline 1 AMP on the P2 Main Dropdown panel and connected the other end of the wires to the P2 Main Lug of P2 Main Dropdown panel. This warning will flash for 60 seconds when the alternator output voltage drops to 13V (normal output is 14V). It then goes to continuous illumination until the condition rectified (i.e. the alternator charges the battery). The warning light activates when the master switch is turned on and goes out after engine start assuming the alternator side of the master switch is on and the alternator output is normal. This light also serves as a reminder to turn off the master switch after engine shutdown.
