Brief Description: Final Installation of the Vertical Stabilizer
Before I mounted the rear spar bulkhead, I riveted on the tie-down mounting bracket. I had a hard enough time trying to drill the four VS rear spar attach bolt holes from inside the access holes...I can't imagine trying to put rivets into the tie-down bracket from inside the access holes on either side of the fuselage. VAN's instruction-guy needs to rethink that part of the process and rewrite the instructions. I'm glad I did the riveting on the bulkhead earlier in the process. The bue gooey RTV-sealer stuff on the AN-3 bolts means I have torqued the nuts on the bolts with a torque wrench. That way I know what I have torqued using a torque wrench and what I haven't.
