The curved outer flange on the left (pilot’s side) inlet was extensively more complex because this side could not be permanently riveted in-place. To secure this curved flange, I used flush-head screws and nutplates. I had to make several reiterations of the template, but made the curved bends in much the same manner as the right side. When I was satisfied with the fit on both sides, I primed and painted with engine enamel.
