Brief Description: Installing the Nose Gear Fairing
I expected the Nose Gear Fairing would be easier than the Main Gear Fairings because final alignment with the aircraft centerline only has to be aligned with one plumb bob mounted at the front of the airplane. In some regards it was easier, but as usual, there is always a twist. This time after I got the piano hinges riveted, I must have installed them slightly too far forward (in an effort to make sure the aft portion of the fairing pinched closed by themselves when the pin is installed). Anyway, after I trimmed the fairing to fit aesthetically over the nose wheel pant, the #@!#^%^&* hinge pin does not go into the hinge worth a dang. I bent the pin numerous times trying to shove it into the hinge and will have to use a new pin with lots of grease and probably a lot bad words to get it in place.
