Brief Description: Setting the Aileron Stop Upward Travel Limits
I won't describe how much fun it was to mark, drill, and rivet these aileron stops after the wing is all assembled but in one, short descriptive word...it was @#%&*&%^&$#@^%!!! ...AND I didn't even resort to using pop rivets; although after about the 3rd hour of messing around with these things I certainly considered that option. I also stopped working three times and started looking for those plans I once saw that said, "Use these great nylon things...they're lots easier to install !!" In the end, after lots of frustrating attempts to get the stops on perfectly, I think I achieved the objective. Both aileron stops limit the upward travel exactly 29 degrees and I used "real' rivets. I really like this little Husky electronic level more and more every time I use it. For those of you going through this phase of the process, it's well worth the $40 investment. You can find them at both Lowes and Home Depot Aviation Tool & Parts Departments....or for another $150 bucks you can get the same thing from Avery's Tools.
