Brief Description:  Fabricate Fairings for the Aft Rudder Cables (Cont

With the new Rudder Cable Fairings cut to accommodate rudder-swing, I applied two coats of West Systems Fiberglass Epoxy and cured this for 24 hours. Next, I placed the fairings over the VANs fairings, and clamped them in-place at approximately the same angles as the chord-angle of the horizontal stabilizers, making sure the right and left fairings were the same angles on either side of the fuselage…I don’t want these fairings to cause any roll instability on the tail. They are within .005 degrees of each other using an electronic level. This was much harder to do than I expected but the final product should increase airspeed by a couple of knots. Two more coats of epoxy and a final sanding and the fairings will be ready for installation using flush pop rivets.
