Brief Description: Install Oil Access Door (Cont.)
After allowing the epoxy to cure over the weekend, I carefully removed all the plastic-wrap and electrician’s tape covered in petroleum jelly to free up the oil access door from the cured epoxy. Next, I sanded all the areas where I applied epoxy resin to fill in low spots and pinholes. Finally, I spent nearly 5 hours carefully filing, sanding, and using a Dremel Grinding Bit to create a 1/8” gap between the oil access door and the cowl flange around the oil access door. The pictures below show the completed oil access door assembly.
