Brief Description:  Fabricate Inlet Ramps

The fiberglass Air Inlet Ramps look like two curved elephant ears that somehow fit over the upper cowl inlets and are fiberglassed onto the upper cowl. As usual, there were no instructions (other than to trim the inlet ramps as needed, cleco, and secure with fiberglass flox). Thankfully, I found some other RV-7A builder’s pictures and trimmed the inboard sides to fit around the center baffle units and the curved portion of the upper cowl on both sides. Next, I sanded the areas of the inlet ramps that would eventually be fiberglassed with flox, drilled #30 holes to secure the ramps, and clecoed. The first picture shows the cut and sanded inlet ramps attached with clecos. The next two pictures are closeup shots of each side.
