Brief Description:  Continued Snorkel Install; Begin Air Ramp Mods

It’s been over a month since I updated my Kitlog. After I enlarged top of the snorkel so the alternator mounting brackets would clear, I started fabricating the Snorkel attachment brackets to securely attach to the outboard inlet ramps. I now was able to have a minimum of 1/8” clearance between all points between the Snorkel and the engine’s #2 induction tube and at all points between the Snorkel and the starter. After a little more enlarging of the mega- “L” -shaped- “Cheetos-Shaped-Hole” on the top of the Snorkel, everything fit! Now it was time to cut out the entire bent section of the inlet-ramp floor, that I spent hours meticulously measuring, fabricating, and installing so it fit perfectly in-line with the lower engine cowling! Then, a second set of instructions called:” Installing the Horizontal Injector Induction System’; which I was now following AND obviously written by some other toad than the first set of instructions said,” DO NOT CUT OUT THE FRONT OF THE INLET RAMP”! After saying a lot of very bad words, I crumpled up all the instructions, threw them away, and started building everything from scratch from this point forward. It makes me so flippin’ angry VAN’s never bothered to update or integrate any of their old plans to make sure you didn’t have to build/rebuild, waste time, and get incredibly frustrated. So, the next 45-60 hours of work is the result of cutting the front of the inlet ramp when I obviously wasn’t supposed to, AND to a set of un-updated plans!
