Brief Description: Move Airplane and Reorganize within Hangar
|
|
I am a partner in a hangar-group with several partners. One of the partners finished building his RV-14 and is flying. Since I was formerly located in the front-right side of the hangar, I agreed to move to the back corner, to facilitate getting his airplane in-and-out of the hangar. In addition to moving, I purchased some rolling shelving units and small plastic drawer units. My wife and I labeled and organized 240 drawers of nuts, bolts, screws, washers, rivets, and miscellaneous parts by type and size in ascending order. I should have done this 15 years ago! Then we moved the airplane, rolling toolboxes, workbenches, and materials to the new area in the hangar. It took 7 days to get moved. It’s very nice and efficient for building the RV-7A. I estimate I’ll have approximately 6 months before I will be ready to get the airplane certified and painted.
