Unlike my hangar-partners RV-14, I had to cut the tops of all the baffling off to match the cowling. The only way I could think to do this was to use a wide, permanent marker taped to the end of a center-punch; set the upper cowl on top of the baffle; draw a line, cut the marker-line off; set the upper cowl on top of the baffle, draw a line…etc. I had to do this same reiteration 6 times for each baffle piece. Then, once I got a perfect fit, I used a compass-scribe to mark 3/8” down from the perfect-fit mark to create a ‘final-cut” line. Then it was back to the bandsaw to make the cuts.
