Brief Description:  Still Not Done with SkyBolt Installation

After building up the insides of the cowlings with 3 layers of fiberglass and one layer of microbeads to correct VANs oversight of not updating the plans for the Pepto-Bismo Pink Cowlings and telling me to insert spacers under the SkyBolt receivers; now the depth of the SkyBolt quarter-turn screw assemblies was incorrect. The two-year-old version of the SkyBolt C-Loc 4000 series receptacles has a patent-pending internal pin with a ball-bearing that locks the depth of the spring-loaded Phillips-head quarter-turn screw. This locking pin is held in place with a rubber O-Ring. In order to unlock the Locking-Pin, you have to remove the O-Ring with a Dental Pick and push the Locking-Pin down so the ball-bearing releases from an internal groove and you can adjust the depth of the Spring-Loaded SkyBolt quarter-turn screw. Let me tell you how much fun this is for 33 receptacles already riveted onto the receivers which are riveted onto the fuselage! Two days later, and after ruining 3 receptacles, I finally have all the O-Rings removed and the receptacles re-riveted to the receivers. However; the receivers are not in their final location for depth adjustment with the Locking Pin and O-Ring in-place. That will come after I insert the cowling side piano-hinges on both the upper and lower cowlings. I guess you can probably tell, MY FUN-METER IS PEGGED WAY TO THE RIGHT on my fun-meter scale.
