Brief Description: Prep Forward Upper Skin and Install Roll Bar Cente
Next, I need to prep and paint a portion of the Forward Upper Skin a flat black so it would be non-reflective. I realize this will need to be repainted once I install the rivets, but I thought it would be easier to get the underside portion that overhangs the instrument panel and I could later sand over the rivets and just repaint that portion of the top. Now that I’ve done it, painting the top before installing rivets was not a good idea. I originally painted the Roll Bar Center Attach brace the same color as the Roll Bar but realized it would be very difficult to mask when I repainted the upper skin with the rivets in place. I ended-up painting the attach brace the same flat-black color, then I went to Walmart and purchased some bicycle handlebar grips and mounted these on the top of the center attach brace. This brace is what everyone grabs to pull themselves out of the RV and on most airplanes the paint gets worn and looks bad after a couple years.
