I began the final connections for the Grand Rapids Technology (GRT) Engine Information System (EIS). I tapped into the pitot and static lines and made connections to the EIS computer. Next, I mounted the Manifold Pressure Sensor Module on the firewall and ran a vacuum line through the firewall which will later be connected to the Intake Manifold Primer Port after I get the engine installed. I also provided power to the module and connected the sensor wires to the EIS. I also installed a GRT EFIS/EIS warning Light which will flash whenever there is a problem with the engine or EFIS. The light will flash and I have to manually go to the warning screen on the EFIS to acknowledge the issue and take whatever action is necessary to correct or mitigate the problem. This is a nice two step feature and the warning light will help to insure I notice there is some sort of problem I need to deal with…hopefully the lights will never flash, but it’s nice to know there are both visual and aural warnings when something isn’t right.
