More progress, it feels so good to be moving forward again! Today I was able to install the main landing gear, I'll install the nose gear after I flip the fuselage over, it won't be so hard on my back ;-) The one piece, solid aluminum spring was installed in the channel with the orange backing rubber squeezed between the main clamps. This way metal on metal contact in eliminated, isolating the fuselange from vibration, noise, or wear.
Then the axels were installed, with the appropriate plates, etc. The tires were mounted on the split rims... that took a few tries to figure out! Then the bearings were packed, then the entire wheel assembly was installed on the gear. Finally, I had time to intall one of the disc brakes, things are moving along :-) Now I need to install the other brake tomorrow, then get some help to flip the fuselage over.
