This was a little scary. The manual scares you a bit about insisting that the brackets be mounted flush to the firewall... Of course, they don't exactly fit flush. I'll admit it, I panicked. After all, who wants their engine to suddenly fall out of their airplane!! I called Valter and drove to Archer City. An hour of flight time and training in the factory demo bird put a smile back on my face. Valter not only gave some excellent flight instruction, but he also calmed my fears.
After getting home, I put a winch cargo strap around the front of the fuselage and gently squeezed until every thing lined up and I could drill the holes to install the brackets. No sweat :-)
It sure would be helpful if the construction manual contained some tips or techniques rather than the vague "install brackets ensuring that they fit flush to the firewall." I know, I know... blah, blah, blah ;-)
