Brief Description:  Baggage Tube 2

I'm very pleased with the install. I fabricated two bulkheads out of the original rear baggage area wall (the extended option uses a different dimension rear wall) and riveted it to the next two frames aft by using the original rivet holes and adding a few. I was amazed at the rigidity and strength after I folded the inside edge 90 degrees making about a 1" lip. Using my super cheap cutting tool, I cut out a 4" hole in each bulkhead to support the tube. I also fashioned an end cap to prevent anything from falling into the fuselage risking somehow fouling the control cables. I was also concerned about creating a draft in the cabin, so I went back and sealed the cap with RTV.

The third photo demonstrates about a 7" clearance from the centerline. If you look closely you can see in the previous post where I first cut a hole in the centerline before I realized the potential interference with the elevator cables. This install worked out so well, someone could have a tube on each side if they so desired. I decided to start with one and see how it goes :-)
