Brief Description: Top skin completed
Rivets, rivets, rivets! Finally got the top skin completely closed up and riveted. I'm not perfect with the tiny little rivets that must be hand squeezed to close trailing edges, but I'm pretty happy with the result. The trailing edge is pretty close to perfectly straight, can't complain ;-)
Now I'll probably go back and redo the rudder trailing edge, as it is too wavy and is obviously my first attempt. I just have to work up the gumption to drill out all those tiny little mistakes :-(((
Bottom skin is complete, tank covers are riveted closed, inspection hatches are done, conduit is run in the nose ribs for electrical lines for nav/strob/landing lights. I've decided to put landing lights on both wings, both for effectiveness and major cool factor! Now comes the dreaded leading edge... I've got the sheet metal ready, I've just got to CAREFULLY fold the material around the nose ribs... no problem! Lastly I'll need to complete the wing tip and then I'll finally have the first wing complete!!!! I'm already guessing that the second wing will go much faster now that I know how it goes....
