Brief Description:  Final Paint Selection Made

With Tigressa theme in our hearts, we chose the Dupont Imron Elite Single Stage Convoy Gold effect, White, and black trim with an option to add some sort of highlight if needed. The color was chosen from a Kenworth truck color selector that had codes for it in Imron 6000 BC/CC. But My local jobber could translate that into an Elite Single Stage version which is perfect.

I preferred to go Single Stage and hope not to regret it. The local painters suggest BC/CC is more forgiving because you can fix errors more easily. But I'm thinking SS is simpler with fewer steps. We'll see.

Given my scheme and some rough calcs it looks like 1 Gallon of Gold, 1 of white and a quart of black should do it. I think I'll need 2 gals of primer sealer to cover everything first.

Scheme Strategy: I wanted a 'rich' color - a pearl or metal flake effect - for Tigressa. Though most schemes have a white top presumably for heat control, I'm convinced it won't be a big factor. Moreover, the top of the fuse, and the tail surfaces are thee easiest to paint so that's where I want the more critical painting. I figure I can only screw white up but so much on the bottom. So here the entire tail, top and bottom, except for a small part of the lower rudder, is painted in Convoy Gold effect. The wing is mostly white, the tips Convoy gold. Etc. Should be easy to mask and shoot.
