The window install was completed along the method used for the Glastar using Dow SCS2000 black silicon adhesive. The result was mixed as far as aesthetics’ is concerned. The look I was going for was along the lines of automotive with a blacked-out area around the edge with a small (3/16”) filed silicon exposure around the edge. The problem is that I got small voids in the sealant that are visible from the outside. It is not a structural or sealing issue as the voids do not extend across the full width of the flange. The learning is that I should have applied the sealant to the plexiglass first then pressed onto the canopy top rather than the other way around. That way any voids would be to the canopy side and not visible from the outside. I will likely cut the windows out one by one and reseal. Just not at this time as there are other more pressing items to work on.
