Brief Description:  baggage door prep

With all of the closeout panels complete, I decided to tackle the baggage door. Everything assembled, drilled, taken apart, deburred, cleaned and primed .... the typical drill.

I have had several work streams going at once with the close out panels, floors, fuel lines, and baggage door. All but the baggage door are finished. Tonight I started looking at the door assembly and found I needed to machine countersink the hinge as one of the first bits assembled ... well, I broke the guide nub off my #40 countersink last weekend while using it in the angle drill. A new one (actually 2 since they are fairly inexpensive) is on order. Then I also discovered tonight I needed to buy the lock seperate (along with the door and ignition to get the same key) and have it on hand to assemble the door. Ordered tonight for another few 100 $s on the airplane. Well, that goes on the back burner until things arrive in the mail.

Next up is the rudder pedal and brakes. Not sure if I will go for the stainless brakeline set or not. It looks better, but I haven't heard of any problems with the stock set up. Hummmmm...

Note to self:
Some feel compelled to track their hours and $s with great precision. Approximate is good enough for me on the hours. Dollars.... well I am in it for the finish line and only need to make sure I can keep the parts comming as fast as I have time to incorporate them into the plane. I keep the big ticket items in mind, but all of the little things along the way, I'm sure will add up to a tidy sum. However, they will not be rigiorously tracked.
