Brief Description: Started installing the modular instrument panel.
I started the installation of the Affordable Panels modular instrument panel today. Fabian Lefler sent me the kit about six months ago but I'm just now getting to that part of the project. He sent instructions and drawings for the center offset panel, but I ordered the center (both left and right side the same size) panel setup with the optional subpanel. Tried to phone him but got no answer, so I just started with what I have.
Spent all morning just studying the instructions and drawings before cutting any metal. I had already put the nutplates on the F-7103B ( L&R) and F-7103C (L&R) attach angles per Vans drawings. Fabian's drawings shows them riveted to his frame. Need to ask him if it's OK to leave them as is and screw them to the frame.. There may be a reason that I'm not aware of, therefore, I still need to talk to him.
I did fabricate two small angles that attach to the fuselage skin and holds the bottom of the panel frame. Will call again tomorrow.
