Today I was reinstalling my ground block which is attached to the top of the recess on the cockpit side. As I was tightening the 5/16" bolt and nut, I heard a pop. The soldered tabs had popped loose from the brass plate. The insulation compression had allowed me to tighten too much and stressed the Forest-of-Tabs. I removed all my grounds which was a real pain because they are so close. A fat hand upside down on your back and in the dark (when the top skin is attached) would have a real problem.
I resoldered the tabs using my small propane torch and reattached the ground block using less torque this time. While reattaching the grounds I made a chart with numbered tabs showing what was grounded to that tab. At least something good came out of the heavy hand!
