Brief Description: Continued with SS foil cutting/drilling.
Today we cut the piece of foil that will cover the FW above the bend line. It will overlap the bottom piece by about 2" which will then be covered with aluminum tape. I also cut the recess foil and riveted it over the ceramic insulation. You can see the pillowing around the washer under the head of the pop-rivet and washers. The top and bottom foil pieces will fold over the edges of the recess and cover insulation on the recess sides.
I taped the bottom and top pieces of foil together and used them as a template to cut out the insulation. I cut out the recess hole since I had already used a separate piece of insulation. The 1/4" thick insulation is ceramic SuperWool Plus and has no binders to outgas. It compresses to about 1/16". It can be handled OK, but one must be careful. See pictures below.
