Brief Description:  Started riveting last skin on left wing.

Today we started riveting the bottom outboard skin (the last skin) onto the left wing. This skin will also contain the pitot which requires riveting a doubler plate to the inside surface of the skin and to a flange that is attached to a rib. Charlotte is "Rosie the riveter" while I will try to reach in, through, and around the ribs to locate the correct spot to position the bucking bar. This process would really be enhanced with "long and skinny" arms, but mine are "short and plump".

It took us a while to determine the best rivet gun air pressure even though we had practiced on the bench vise. This won't be a "perfect" job but at least we have begun. After 2.5 hours we decided we were finished for the day. We almost completed the first inboard bay. While reaching the rear spar (at the top in the pictures) by pulling out the skin I was at my limit to hold the bar. How will I reach the rear spar as the skin get tighter? They say it can be done. I hope so!
