Brief Description:  More electrical system design and fun.

We decided that fuse blocks instead of circuit breakers make more sense for circuit protection. After years of flying airline and air force aircraft, I pretty much had made up my mind of not dealing with more complex and expensive circuit breakers which can be dangerous if reset when they shouldn't be reset. Land and fix the problem if a fuse blows.

John had brought an extra fuse block that he had not used in his SeaRey, so we made a mock-up using some scrap aluminum to form a bracket. We saw that I could put two fuse blocks between the stringers on the left side of the cockpit just in front of the spar next to my left knee. Another fuse block could go in a similar position on the right side of the cockpit if needed. We also checked the continuity on all my Dynon and engine sensor harnesses. They all checked out ok.

We then clecoed the forward top fuselage ribs into place and set the panel in its place. That should give me some ideas as to where the Dynons and other instruments should go.

We were sorry to see John and Carolyn leave, but we had a great time. We ate too much but drank just the right amount of wine. He got me off "dead center" about planning my electrical system.

Thanks, John and Carolyn, come visit any time!
