Brief Description:  Installed alternate static air source.

I had forgotten to install an alternate static air source before riveting on the nose skin. Now I had to suffer for a lapse in memory. Working on my back under the instrument panel at 100 degrees with high humidity took its toll on me today. I had to pop rivet an angle on the canopy rail deck underneath the nose skin. I had to use the 90 angle drill to drill the holes and the manual pop-rivet tool to accomplish the task. Sweating profusely with very little hand and arm maneuvering room, I somehow managed to attach a Safe Air 1 tube tee to the angle with a #8 screw and nylok nut. I then cut the static line with a utility knife as square as I could do. I inserted the cut tube into the tee and then put a 6" piece of tube in the bottom of the tee. I added another tube fitting followed by the plug and flag. I then reconnected the fresh air vent hose. It took me about 4 hours and I almost gave up on the task.

I went home with sore hips and back and totally exhausted from the heat.
