Brief Description:  Riveted angle to left side baffle and inlet.

Today I riveted the angle to the left side baffle and the inlet ramp. I had removed the conical gusset yesterday. I tried to use holes from the gusset but could only use two. I covered three holes with 5/32" flush rivets on the ramp after dimpling the holes. I used the middle hole on the side baffle and the far aft hole on the ramp to rivet the angle. The other four holes were match drilled to the baffle and ramp. It all came out OK while moving the side baffle outboard slightly to allow the cowling to fit correctly.

Tomorrow I have to figure out how to reduce the aft to fore length of the filter assembly to be able to remove the cowling once the prop is installed. I didn't look far enough ahead. I was just thinking of how to make the filter assembly strong. Well, I did that OK, but now I have to make it weaker by cutting some aluminum off the forward edge. There is only about 1/4" from the prop spinner bulkhead to move the lower cowling forward to clear the inlets while removing it for maintanence. Help!!
