Not able to finish the wingtips while waiting for the landing lights, I decided to start installing the empennage. I plan to install the horizontal stab, vertical stab, and rudder and then remove them and move the fuselage in the garage to be able to install the engine. I have just enough room to install the empennage with the wings still in the garage.
Charlotte and I carried in the horizontal stabilizer (built 5 years ago and stashed in a bedroom) and clamped it to the aft fuselage. Before drilling holes I will try to level the fuselage while still on the rotating engine stands. I'll have to remove the aft stand to install the vertical stab which attaches to the very aft bulkhead. I did some leveling which was enough for today.
