Brief Description: Cut out foam wingtip ribs and glued.
The new "outside caliper" tool arrived today so I started taking measurents of the wingtips while clecoed to the wing. The tool was not quite deep enough in the throat so I had to add some extentions, but it worked OK. After writing down all the measurements, I averaged the 3" station widths of the wingtips and then subtracted the fiberglass thickness to come up with widths to plot on the foam.
I cut out two partial cord line ribs and test fitted them onto the wingtips. I then sanded a slight angle on the edges and glued them in using Loctite 300 tube glue (Home Depot) specially made for foam to keep the adhesive from melting the foam. I decided to let the adhesive cure overnight before clecoing the wingtips to the wings.
