Brief Description: Matchdrilled strip and wingtip end tip.
Today I matchdrilled the reinforcement strips to the wing skins and then countersunk for a #6 screw so that the wing skin dimple will fit. Some of the epoxy let go of the reinforcement strip but with the nutplates riveted on it will not be a problem. I then checked the countersunk #6 holes using a homemade dimpled gage.
I measured for the rivet line on the wingtip "end tips" and clamped them to the wingtips and matchdrilled. None of this is complicated but it is tedious. The most difficult thing to do is to clamp the wingtip to the workbench to keep it from moving around while working on it.
I used the Dremel and stone to countersink the fiberglass for #6 screws.
I made an aluminum dimple gage to check the countersinks.
