Brief Description: Throttle quadrant refitting and manipulation
The quick build fuselage came with the trottle quadrand cover surround already drilled and fitted with platenuts. Problem is that the quadrant wont fit with the cover without some manipulaton. First I had to remove a plate nut just forward of the quadrant face because it interfears. Next I marked tjhe face for a slit cut so that the cover will be able to wrap around and not go inbetween the face plate and the adjacent plate. I made the slit cuts on the bandsaw, polished the edges and then masked and painted
Pic one shows the two cuts. Look closely near the rich marking and the lean marking for them. Pic two shows the face plate in position and flush against its mount and then the cover wraps around. This should work now.
Note: I dont need the prop control lever so I emoved it and inserted a spacer. I like the wider face plate because it fills in the opening much nicer than the two lever quadrant. Now I need to decide if I should fill in the high and low markings and then paint or just cover with something. Ill have to decide on that later I also need to add a single lug type plate nut which I failed to photograph
there are two entrys today
Cuts made on each end on inboard side for fitting
I marked out the high and low markings with a sharpie but it needs filled and painted I think
