Brief Description:  Wing Tip #15 - Sanding the aft ends

I rolled the wings outside, this morning, to keep the dust down in the shop with the impending sanding. The wings looked weird in the driveway and how much room there was in the garage. I installed the tip ribs and then installed the tips on the wings. Using the orbital sander, I worked the aft edge of the wing tips until the were flush with the trailing edge of the aileron. I made sure to sneak up on it so that I did not over-sand either tip. The left tip fit is perfect on the top side, bottom side and aft side - they all three match the aileron. I will grade this one a 99. On the right wing tip, the top and aft side exactly match the aileron, but the bottom is proud as it extends lower than the aileron. Oh well, it not too bad and it's on the bottom, so I will leave it for now. I give it a 91. I am glad that I did strengthen the tips yesterday even though I did not sand down into the new glass - it will keep it strong and was likely needed.

I didn't get an outside picture of the right tip as it is supposed to be 105 degrees today and the sun is quickly coming up above the garage so it was about to get really hot with the respirator on, so I rushed everything back inside before taking a pick, but I took one once inside.
