Brief Description: mate left elevator to horizontal stabilizor
Today I installed the rod ends back in the left elevator and mated the elevator to the horizontal stabilizor. I am now, "officially" into new territory and back to making forward progress on the build as I am past that bad day of 3/14/2013 when I dropped the stab/elevator! But enough of that - on to the progress!
I also, measured the elevator travel to make sure I was within the limits specified by Van's. The maximum upward deflection is 30 degrees and the maximum downward deflection is 25 degrees.
My measurements were as follows:
Left Elevator Down = 33.25 degrees Up = 38.25 degrees Right Elevator Down = 31.85 degrees Up = 38.25 degrees
I then secured the elevators "in trail" so that I can complete the next step of drilling the holes in the control arm. A short day, but a good day!
