Brief Description:  Landing Gear Fairing #8

Another reveal party happened today as I removed the wheel pants again and inspected the gap-fill areas. All good there. The next step is to build up the area on the aft half of the wheel pant, where the U-808 bracket will be riveted to the wheel pant. As Vans says, this is a region where the fiberglass thickness is changing, so a few plies of fiberglass cloth must be bonded to the inner surface. I was supposed to do this before the alignment process, but it should be fine as it will just be a few plies of additional thickness. I cut three plies each for the four areas needed and set them aside for later when I mix up a batch of resin.

I also revisited the hinge location on the Landing Gear Fairings (LGF) and decided, once and for all, to move them back a bit which will allow for easier installation on the landing gear and slightly increase the thickness of the fairing. I got the right fairing drilled before it was time for dinner and errands.
