I did the same thing on the right side gear fairing as on the left, except I moved the hinge aft. Although the pin is still hard to push in, the fairing fits well on the gear, and there is much less movement. I will go back to the left fairing, move the hinge aft, and fill in the 36 "extra" holes I will have. More learning and progress is taking place.
