I recently learned on a VAF thread that the GTN-650Xi antenna cable has a minimum length of 6.5', and although I could have coiled the antenna up and used the glare shield location as planned, I wasn't that distressed about it. I wasn't all that happy with that location since I measured how much glare shield space that antenna would command. I noodled the best route to get that thick cable from the front to the baggage area and determined that the right side rail had enough capacity to accept the RG-400 cable through the various bulkheads. I started running the wire and laid it on top of existing wires from the front, where it will attach to the GTN-650 to the baggage area. I purchased enough length to run it to the aft side of the rear baggage area bulkhead, where it will go up to the upper center and along the canopy rail attach points to the antenna.
temporary "loose" routing
Using the upper routing I could skip the crowded gear towers
